Freelance Industrial Designer - Bright Light Ventures

Bright
Light Ventures seeks an experienced industrial designer with
a focus in consumer products for a short-term freelance project.
The designer will work from a clearly identified set of aesthetics
and mechanical constraints, to produce a 3-D computer model
suitable for functional prototyping. The goal is to have the
product in millions of homes within the next few years and
a stunning, iconic design is a big part of making that a reality.
Key Skills:
-Quickly and intuitively understand the aesthetic we are after
from our description and design boards
- Quickly develop a number of sketches that embody our concept
and aesthetic
- Work with the team to develop solutions around manufacturing
and material challenges
-engineering/manufacturing background a plus
-solid understanding of UX
-excellent hand sketching skills
Ideal candidate should have a degree in Industrial Design,
4+ years relevant experience and a talent for translating
concepts and prompts into a finished design.

topped off with a burning hunger for life.
Approach:
To successfully do this work we need you to be a conceptual
problem solver with a deep appreciation for the role of design
in lifestyle products. You must also have a high regard for
the role of the clients perspective and knowledge in collaboration.
Above all you must have a sophisticated approach to creative
thinking, concept and form development, sketching and rendering
and an awareness of innovations and best practices in the world
of product design.
